Detachment History
The Southern Maine Detachment 1324 was chartered on Feb 11th 2009 by 15 Marines who joined together for the purpose of promoting the history and traditions of the Marine Corps. Since then we have become one of the fastest growing detachments in the state and currently (as of 1/4/17) have 88 members. Our members have served honorably in WWII, Korea, Dominican Republic, Vietnam, the Cold War Era as well as the Gulf Wars and the current War on Terrorism (OIF & OEF). The detachment has always been active in the community whether fund raising for various veterans organizations, providing honors for funerals and parades, as well as the Toys For Tots campaign among others.
